It's not often that you get to know a home before its inhabitants but this was the case a couple of weeks ago when we set off on our first house swapping adventure. With much anticipation we arrived in front of a rather unattractive, industrial building. We were anticipating a warehouse, but when people say they live in a warehouse they usually mean it was a warehouse or factory at some stage, this however was an actual working, vertical factory! The service elevator took us to the 20 something floor where we opened the doors to a different world - we found this delightful loft in the heart of Hong Kong.

It is the pride and joy of a dynamic duo, Irene & Mark. He owns an interior design company and she heads a fashion brand and they divide their time between Bali & Hong Kong. They bought this space just over a year ago. Warehouse space is becoming a more popular option given the crazy rents and lack of properly cool spaces on the island. Most recently Irene and Mark bought 3 units downstairs and the plans are to turn them into one massive apartment too. We can't wait to see the outcome.

Our Style: Modern eclectic mix that is warm and open.
Inspiration: Having a place that changes mood according to different time of the day/night.
What Friends Say: They are always wowed by the great views and the unexpected surprise after coming through the lift and corridor.
Favorite element: Coffee table in the dining room, kitchen top and view from shower.
Proudest DIY: Finding the wallpaper in Italy and putting it up on our return.
Biggest Challenge: Finding and getting the place!
Biggest Indulgence: Matt Hilton’s dining table and bed
    Dream Source: Global vintage markets.
Best advice: Be true to yourself when designing and fitting the space out.
Biggest Embarrassment: A friend using the toilet without closing the curtain/door of the bathroom

Generally, a warehouse must allow regular circulation of workers, vehicles and machines required to handle goods and materials.

Space planning inside a warehouse varies according to the type of goods to be stored. Generally, a warehouse must allow regular circulation of workers, vehicles and machines required to handle goods and materials.
