    Default Minimalist House Design

Located in Landskrona this minimalist townhouse was built in narrow site and sandwiched between very old neighboring building. The house look very different from another building, three tin slabs are projected into the open volume, softly dividing its function. Its a 3 story narrow and small house, the first floor located open plan living room, dining and kitchen the second floor accommodate the library, lounge and workspace, the bedroom and bathroom located in the third floor. The continuous interior space is opening up to the street, to an intimate garden and to the sky. This townhouse is a perfect sample of how to built and organize the modern house in narrow space. See the floorplan, and 3d model for more detail about this townhouse layout.

Japanese designs also provide us with very minimalist concept using space saving furniture. Since Japanese style interior decorating involves using space intelligently, a lot of people emulate it and use the concepts in their own design. An example for this is the Sajica set by Hisae Igarashi which features traditional Japanese seating upholstered in Sage-colored material. The modular tables and shelves add to the flexibility of the furniture set.

Choose furniture that fits the size of the room you're decorating. Record the measurements of your room before going shopping. Avoid purchasing a sofa that overpowers your room. A big room does not need to be filled up with big furniture. Conversely, smaller sofas often look best in rooms with vaulted ceilings.
